The surprising trait that gets better with age

An article in TIME Magazine reports on a new study by researchers at UB and Northwestern University that shows people aren’t getting older and crankier, but instead are getting older and more trusting. The article quotes Michael Poulin, UB associate professor of psychology, who said, “On the structural side, we know that as people age, they prune their social networks such that as we get older we interact less with people we find less emotionally rewarding.” The article also appeared in Real Simple magazine.
