Beliefs clash as people await Kim Davis ruling

Michael Boucai, associate professor of law, was quoted in an article in USA Today about Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who was jailed last week for her refusal to grant marriage licenses for same-sex couples. “The image of a woman going to jail to vindicate her religious belief is a very powerful one,” he said. “The punishment plays into the hand of religious conservatives.” The article also appeared in the Louisville Courier-Journal.
