Could exercise help teens recover from concussions?

A story on CBS This Morning reports on a new clinical trial being conducted by John Leddy, medical director of the UB Concussion Management Clinic, to determine whether exercise can be used to treat concussion in teenagers. “We don’t have any treatment for concussion right now,” he said. “There’s no pill you can take. Really, all you can do is wait until the symptoms go away. In this case we’re hoping that by engaging the beneficial effects of exercise and the physiology of the brain, that this will actually speed recovery in kids with acute concussion.” The segment was previewed in an article in the Buffalo News.
