An article in The New York Times reports on a new study by researchers at UB and Yale that found that satellite data about global cloud cover is a useful tool for identifying the size and location of threatened animal and plant habitats, and quotes Adam Wilson, assistant professor of geography at UB, who led the study. “In thinking about conserving biodiversity, one of the most important scientific questions is ‘Where are the species?’” he said. Articles also appeared on Environment 360; El Pais, the No. 1 Spanish-language newspaper in Spain; Univision; and Futurity.
