John Leddy, clinical professor of orthopaedics and director of UB’s Concussion Management Clinic, is quoted in an Associated Press article about growing concerns in the National Hockey League about concussions and hits to the head after hundreds of documents were unsealed last week as evidence in a concussion lawsuit filed by former players. “Collision sports are inherently dangerous, but with rule changes you can make them less dangerous,” he said. “And with better diagnostic protocols you can identify concussions and get them treated.” The article appeared in news outlets around the world, including The Washington Post, USA Today, WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, CTV News, KHOU-TV in Houston, England’s Daily Mail and the New Zealand Herald.
