An article in Business First about UB’s continued commitment to bringing international students to campus despite the new era of uncertainty posed by the executive order by President Donald Trump that calls for a 90-day ban on individuals from six Muslim-majority countries, as well as proposed changes to the visa programs that could have ambiguous consequences for international students seeking an American college education, interviews John Wood, senior associate vice provost for international education. UB does not plan to significantly alter its international strategy, he said, though it will proactively market the program’s stability and the campus’ welcoming nature. The article also quotes a public letter written by UB President Satish K. Tripathi about the issue in late January.
