Watch scientists brew their own lava

A story and video in The New York Times features research by scientists in UB's Center for Geohazards Studies, who are brewing their own lava and injecting it with water to make it explode. The goal of this work is to better understand the physical processes that drive explosive reactions when lava and water meet in nature.
