An article in USA Today about people’s obsession with and glorification of always being occupied with work and the role it plays in our sense of self-worth interviews Margaret Sallee, associate professor of educational leadership and policy in the UB Graduate School of Education, who has researched work/life issues for 15 years. "We get this message that you prove your worth through what you do for work," she said. "Very few times do you prove your worth by saying 'I'm really good at sleeping' or 'I'm a good amateur cook.' So when people say, 'Tell me about yourself, what do you do?' it’s tied to your identity. So how do I prove my worth? It’s by working all the time."
