CNN quoted Shira Gabriel on the growing popularity of “vaccine selfies,” which are viewed as a way for the selfie-taker to signal to loved ones they are safe and vaccinated. The selfies are seen as a tool to broadcast being part of an exclusive group and a potential means to help dispel vaccine skepticism in others. On the other hand, some people are conflicted with how public they should be about receiving a vaccine. Gabriel said a "very real negative" is that vaccine selfies are causing envy in people who haven't gotten their shots yet.
