Suicide among Black girls is a mental health crisis hiding in plain sight

Time Magazine quoted Amanda Nickerson about the increase in suicides among Black girls, characterizing it as a mental health crisis hiding in plain sight.  “Being bullied can definitely have an adverse impact on depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation and attempt,” she said. Nickerson added that one way schools can combat bullying against minorities is to ensure that they are teaching students tolerance.
