Forbes reported on UB-led research that found the stereotype that men are more creative than women is eroding and is less pronounced in countries that have more gender equality, although the perception is still prevalent. The perception was pervasive even in industries with a greater female presence, says lead author Snehal Hora, doctoral candidate in the UB School of Management. “In simple terms, it appeared that, knowingly or not, women were more self-critical when it came to creativity,” said Hora. “Although others’ biased ratings of women’s creative performance did exist, the biases women held against themselves appeared stronger.”
