Woolly mammoths were inbred, but that didn't cause their extinction

Earth referenced Vincent Lynch in an article about the extinction of woolly mammoths. In the article, Lynch suggests that data samples collected from Wrangel Island doesn’t entirely dismiss the meltdown model but doesn’t entirely dismiss it citing the isolation of the species on the island made them more susceptible to disease or climate shifts.
