Friday the 13th: Why is it considered unlucky?

NPR’s Here & Now featured Phillips Stevens in an episode about the superstitions associated with Friday the 13th.  “This particular taboo derives from the story of the Last Supper,” Stevens said. The 13th member to arrive to the biblical seder was Judas, the disciple who betrayed him for crucifixion on the subsequent Friday.
