SUNY Geneseo Establishes Educational Partnership with UB Pharmacy School

A memorandum of agreement has been formally signed by SUNY Geneseo Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Mary C. Toale, Ed.D., and Dean of the UB School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Gary Pollack, PhD.

“Building on our strong collaboration with UB, we are excited for SUNY Geneseo students to participate in the UB PharmD program through the 3+4 agreement,” said Dr. Toale. “This partnership further demonstrates the strength of SUNY partnerships for student success across the SUNY system.”

Under the 3+4 agreement, students will complete three years of undergraduate study in SUNY Geneseo’s BA or BS in Biology or BA Chemistry programs, then apply to UB’s pharmacy program. Once accepted, students will have their first-year pharmacy courses applied toward completion of their bachelor’s degree at SUNY Geneseo. Rather than taking four years to complete a bachelor’s degree and another four years to complete the Doctor of Pharmacy degree, students will complete both programs in seven years. The pharmacy program will guarantee spaces each year for qualified SUNY Geneseo students.

Discussing the UB-SUNY Geneseo partnership, Dean Pollack affirmed, “The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences values our strong collaboration with SUNY Geneseo, and our agreement will further solidify this partnership. We look forward to having their best and brightest students as members of our PharmD program.”
