Twenty-three faculty members representing 10 departments have joined the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences during the past few months.
Ankita Dubey, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of medicine.
She completed an internal medicine residency at Henry Ford Providence Hopsital and general surgery residencies at Henry Ford Providence Hopsital and the Mayo Clinic.
Dubey received her medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine.
Natasha Gautam, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology.
She is a glaucoma and cataract specialist with dual fellowship training in glaucoma. She performs a wide range of glaucoma surgeries, including trabeculectomy, tube shunts, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, laser trabeculoplasty, and cyclophotocoagulation, in addition to cataract surgery.
Gautam completed fellowships in glaucoma at the Mayo Clinic, in neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in pediatric ophthalmology at Northwestern University, and in glaucoma at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research.
She completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research and an internship at the Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research.
Gautam received her medical degree from the Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research.
Bethany Harvey, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of surgery.
She completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center and a hospice and palliative care fellowship at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Harvey completed a general surgery residency at the Jacobs School.
She received her medical degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine.
Julia M. Hitchcock, MD, is an assistant professor of medicine.
She is a primary care physician at the Erie County Medical Center internal medicine clinic. Her interests are in delivering efficient, cost-effective care to underserved patient populations.
Hitchcock completed an internal medicine residency at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
She received her medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.
Katherine Lee, MD, is an assistant professor of medicine.
She participated in the Medical Education Teaching Certificate Program and completed a residency in internal medicine, both at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Lee received her medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Pamela K. Morris, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of family medicine.
She is a board-certified family medicine physician at the Erie County Medical Center Family Health Center and cares for patients of all ages and genders.
Her scope of practice includes treating a variety of acute and chronic disorders, performing health physicals, preventative care counseling, small procedures, and in-office point-of-care ultrasound.
Morris completed a family medicine residency at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
She received her medical degree from the Jacobs School.
Michael J. Oldani, PhD, is a clinical associate professor of pharmacology and toxicology.
He is a trained medical anthropologist who also serves as executive director of the Office of Interprofessional Practice and Education at the University at Buffalo.
Oldani’s research has critically examined the impact of pharmaceutical sales and promotion on provider prescribing practices, changes in psychiatric practices during the pharmaceutical era, and medical and prescribing practices within vulnerable populations, such as the incarcerated mentally ill.
His teaching interests include interprofessional education, conflicts of interest within the U.S. pharmaceutical marketplace, global health, and clinical/focused ethnography for health care practitioners.
Oldani earned his doctoral degree in medical anthropology from Princeton University.
Monica Pillon, PhD, is an assistant professor of structural biology.
Her lab leads a multidisciplinary research program that combines RNA-protein biochemistry, enzymology, structural biology (e.g., cryo-EM), and cell biology.
Pillon completed fellowships at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and at McMaster University.
She earned her doctoral degree in biochemistry and biomedical sciences from McMaster University.
Michael B. Reed, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of medicine.
He completed an internal medicine and pediatrics residency at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Reed earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria.
Graham Skelhorne-Gross, MD, PhD, is a clinical assistant professor of surgery.
He completed a fellowship in trauma/surgical critical care at the University of Washington.
Skelhorne-Gross completed his residency training in general surgery at the University of Toronto.
He received his medical degree and a doctoral degree in pathology and molecular medicine from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
