"While taking pride in the achievement this designation represents, it also serves to motivate and inspire our campus community as we continue to work toward fulfilling our commitment to become climate neutral by 2030.”

In September 2015, the University at Buffalo completed it's second comprehensive, University-wide sustainability assessment through the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) of administered by the Association of Advancement for Sustainability in Higher Education.
The move from a Silver rating to a Gold rating since UB's first submission is due to the incredible dediation of students, faculty and staff from across the university who work every day to make UB a truly sustainable place through our operations, teaching, research, and engagement with the community.
