Researchers look into a greenhouse space in Davis Hall. This greenhouse is part of their work advancing the use of AI in indoor farming.

UB's AI & Society Building will be a hub for AI-powered multidisciplinary research, education and entrepreneurship that will address societal problems in a wide spectrum of sectors, ranging from medicine and finance to social justice and sustainable technologies.

The new building will feature a variety of carefully designed spaces and programs that will help foster an environment to maximize outcomes, including research spaces for running complex AI simulations and experiments, co-creation and maker spaces for building and prototyping AI-based hardware and projects, conference rooms, faculty offices, computing labs, and startup and incubation spaces where students and AI startups can leverage the unique facilities to spark innovative ideas. The AI & Society Building will be co-located with the Interdisciplinary Research Building.
