Renovations to UB's Student Union began in December 2023, focused on creating a warmer, "living room" feel to this central hub of the North Campus. With flexible seating and workspaces, the completed renovations offer students a variety of options for meeting, eating or studying in the Student Union.

The large, interior vestibule wall was removed and replaced with a smaller, glass entryway onto Mary Talbert Way, making the lobby bigger and brighter. Better access between the second and third floors was provided with the addition of a new, open staircase and landing. 

The renovations also included updated flooring, new ceiling, pendant lighting and acoustical panels along the walls to improve the acoustics and reduce noise levels.
