Longtime UB supporters Lois and Michael Cropp, and Sharon and Mark Hamister will serve as co-chairs for the seventh annual UB Scholarship Gala.
The event will take place from 6-11 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Edward Wright Practice Facility in Alumni Arena, North Campus.
Independent Health and Verizon are the presenting sponsors for this year’s event.
Cropp, president and CEO of Independent Health, is a UB Foundation board trustee. Hamister, chair and CEO of The Hamister Group, is a UB Foundation board director.
Attracting the best and brightest students is one of the goals of UB 2020, the university’s strategic plan to become a model 21st-century public university. Scholarships are one of the most effective ways to guarantee that top students choose UB.
To date, UB has raised more than $1 million in scholarship funds through six gala events. Donor support—by corporations, foundations and individuals—helps to ensure that every promising student has the opportunity to pursue a first-rate education at UB.
This year’s event will include dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions, and student performances. Tickets are $200 per person and tables are $1,500, with sponsorships still available.
