UB is committed to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all members of the university community and has developed a Discrimination and Harassment Policy outlining procedures by which the university will investigate and resolve complaints of discrimination and harassment.
Sharon Nolan-Weiss, director of the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), notes that in accordance with the policy, which applies to all members of the UB community, the university does not tolerate discriminatory harassment, including sexual harassment.
The university has developed an online sexual harassment prevention program that provides information and guidance related to sexual harassment. Nolan-Weiss strongly encourages all employees complete the 30-minute online training program, which can be mandated by supervisors and managers. A certificate of completion can be printed at the conclusion of the program.
She also says that arrangements can be made for in-person training by EDI staff members.
Those with questions or concerns should contact EDI at 645-2266 or aa-diversity@buffalo.edu. For more information, visit EDI’s new website.
