Hundreds of children are expected to fill dental clinics in the School of Dental Medicine on Feb. 1 as UB holds its 12th annual "Give Kids a Smile Day" from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Squire Hall on the South Campus.
Children from across Western New York who do not have access to dental care will receive dental treatment free of charge that day as part of the dental school's community outreach initiative.
While students wait for their dental appointments, the award-winning UB Teddy Bear clinic will offer hands-on activities, dental videos, games, oral health instruction and visits by local sports mascots.
UB dental Dean Michael Glick, Rep. Brian Higgins, Erie County Health Commissioner Gale R Burstein and Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown will be on hand to help celebrate the day.
