The 1,000 residents of Goodyear and Clement halls returned from winter break to find an improved dining experience with the completion by Campus Dining and Shops of a major renovation of the main entrance and serving area in the Goodyear Dining Center.
The project was designed by Kideney Architects and engineered and constructed by Campus Dining and Shops’ own service department.
Goodyear Dining Center, the only residential dining facility serving the South Campus, operates as an all-you-care-to-eat facility for breakfast and dinner during the week and brunch and dinner on the weekends; it is open during lunch and late-night as a retail operation.
The remodeling, which covered more than 6,000 square-feet, featured a new color scheme and the installation of new decorative wall tiles and acrylic murals, copper hood accents, cloud ceilings and eye-catching lighting fixtures throughout the facility. Several new pieces of equipment also were installed during the renovation, including a flat-top grill, a deli bar, a char-broiler and deep fryers.
“Our new equipment will provide our students with more diverse, made-to-order food choices and will also help improve our efficiencies,” says Jeff Brady, executive director of Campus Dining and Shops. “The new look and feel really invites the students in for an all-around enjoyable dining experience.”
