Jennifer Hess has been named associate dean for admissions, enrollment planning and pre-pharmacy advising in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Hess previously was assistant dean and director of admissions for the pharmacy school. In that role, she led efforts to streamline the Early Assurance Program to increase the likelihood students will complete the pre-pharmacy requirements in two years and be admitted directly into the PharmD program.
Hess and her staff also have worked to increase the number of universities participating in 3+4 Educational Agreements in which students from these universities are able to fulfill the requirements for a BS degree from their undergraduate institution and a PharmD from UB in seven years instead of eight.
In addition, Hess has increased UB’s competitiveness in recruiting out-of-state students.
