All members of the UB community can skate for free — including skate rentals — at UB’s outdoor ice skating rink, located in the Special Events Field across from the Student Union on the North Campus.

The rink, sponsored by Student Life and managed by Outdoor Pursuits, also is available for rental by any UB department or student group.

Rates for rink rental are $20 per hour for student groups and $50 per hour for departments and other private groups.

Outdoor Pursuits also can customize special-event or team-building programs for any group that rents the rink, says Russ Crispell, director of Outdoor Pursuits.

Hours of operation for the rink — pending weather conditions — are noon to 2 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays; 2-10 p.m. on Saturdays and 4-10 p.m. on Sundays.
