UB faculty and staff are invited to take part in UB Community Day, a day of service taking place April 11 in the University Heights neighborhood adjacent to the South Campus.
The event, organized by the UB Office of Community Relations, will begin at 9 a.m. with registration and a light breakfast and conclude around 1:30 p.m. with lunch. Its goal is to build bonds between UB faculty, staff and students and the broader University Heights community.
Families are welcome — children should be over 16 and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Volunteers will work on such projects as painting, preparing community gardens and neighborhood flower beds, removing graffiti and general cleanup tasks.
UB volunteers are eligible to win free prizes at the closing lunch, including a Playstation 4, a Samsung Galaxy tablet, Beats by Dre headphones, a 32” LED TV, UB prize packs and more.
Those interested in volunteering can register online or contact Matt Kopalek at kopalek@buffalo.edu.
