The Employee Assistance Program is offering training sessions in the fundamentals of Integrated Amrita Meditation Technique (IAMT), a relaxation technique consisting of simple yoga postures, breathing, visualization and sound.
The sessions will be held from 9-11 a.m. Sept. 17 and Oct. 15 in 107 Capen Hall in the UB Honors College, North Campus, and from 9-11 a.m. Nov. 5 and Dec. 10 in 100 Allen Hall, South Campus.
The sessions will be taught by Bharat Jayaraman, professor of computer science and engineering and a IAMT practitioner for 40 years.
Once learned, IAMT can be practiced in 20 minutes and, if used regularly, can lead to reduced stress and anxiety, as well as increased energy and productivity.
The sessions are free and open to all UB employees. To register, visit the EAP website.
