Starbucks lovers have another spot at UB to get their fix for a blonde roast or a Frappuccino now that Perks in the Ellicott Food Court is selling Starbucks products.
Perks is taking part in Starbucks’ “We Proudly Serve” program, offering the coffee company’s full line of coffees, teas and blended drinks, including organic, Fair Trade and ethically sourced products.
Perks also has begun serving premium ice cream and frozen yogurt from Perry’s Ice Cream.
The arrival of Starbucks and Perry’s products is not the only new feature at Perks. The coffee shop has been remodeled, with new flooring, new seating and a new serving line.
Campus Dining & Shops (CDS) also will offer Starbucks products in the new café that will open as part of the ongoing renovations to the Silverman Library on the third floor of Capen Hall.
Students can use meal credits and Dining Dollars, and faculty and staff can use FlexiBull Bucks to purchase Starbucks coffee at the Perks and Capen locations,
The change to Starbucks products comes in response to a series of campus-wide surveys, including results from the National Association of College and University Food Services’ customer satisfaction survey. Respondents overwhelmingly cited Starbucks as their top coffee brand.
“We are excited to bring a brand so well-known for quality and service to the UB community,” says Jeff Brady, executive director of CDS. “We are also proud to offer both national and local coffee brands throughout our campuses. Buffalo’s own McCullagh Coffee and Golden Cup are available in multiple locations at UB, along with Tim Hortons.
