Budget-conscious music lovers at UB can find much to keep them busy this month.
The first Brown Bag Concert of the season will take place at noon Oct. 13 on the stage of Lippes Concert Hall in Slee Hall, North Campus.
This series of free, informal concerts presented during the lunch hour showcases the talents of students and faculty in the Department of Music. Patrons are encouraged to bring their lunch and enjoy the performance. Each attendee will receive a voucher redeemable for a pair of complimentary tickets to a more formal concert presented by the music department before the next Brown Bag Concert is held on Feb. 2.
Other free concerts on tap during October are a performance by the UB Concert Band, Jon Nelson conducting, at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13 in Lippes Concert Hall; a performance by students in Jean Kopperud’s “On the Edge” class at 3 p.m. Oct. 22 in Baird Recital Hall, 250 Baird Hall, North Campus; and a performance by students in the “On the Edge” honors class at 5 p.m. Oct. 22, also in Baird Recital Hall.
