Kenneth H. Kurtz, a faculty member for more than 40 years in the Department of Psychology, died Sept. 21 in Elderwood at Williamsville. He was 86.
A native of Buffalo, Kurtz received a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1949 from UB, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and earned master’s and doctoral degrees from Yale University.
After serving in the Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky, he joined the UB faculty in the late 1950s.
He was an author of the textbook “Foundations of Psychological Research: Statistics, Methodology and Measurement” and published numerous articles in scholarly publications throughout his career.
