A daylong workshop designed to arm researchers with the fundamentals of good grant writing will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 18 in 106 O’Brian Hall, North Campus.
The event, sponsored by the Research Advancement Hub of the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development, is open to UB faculty, researchers, postdoctoral fellows and support staff.
Leading the workshop will be John Robertson from the Grant Writers’ Seminars & Workshops LLC, who will tailor his presentation for researchers from a wide range of disciplines — among them engineering, medicine, physical and life sciences, social and educational sciences, management, law, humanities and the arts — who wish to submit grant proposals to federal agencies, industry and foundations.
Robertson will emphasize the principles and fundamentals of good proposal writing, as well as provide practical tips and strategies for writing each component of a grant application.
The seminar will include an hour-long lunch break and two short coffee breaks in the morning and afternoon. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with the formal program following at 8:30 a.m.
The cost of the seminar is $100 and covers a workbook, a copy of the PowerPoint presentation, lunch and coffee breaks.
Attendees may register online. For more information, contact Laura Mangan at lmangan@buffalo.edu.
