University Facilities crews are working to reopen offices on the ground and first floors of Norton Hall after they were closed on Monday due to flooding caused by an apparent sprinkler head malfunction in an office on the first floor of Norton.

No classrooms in Norton were affected by the flooding; all classes are proceeding according to schedule.

For the time being, Student Advising Services in 109 Norton Hall has been relocated to 17 Norton Hall; all appointments are being held at their scheduled time in 17 Norton. For more information, call 645-6013 or email sas-advisor@buffalo.edu.

The Office of Student Conduct and Advocacy (formerly known as Judicial Affairs) in 9 Norton Hall has remained open, but operations may be delayed. Email UB-judicial@buffalo.edu for more information.

Access to these locations may be limited; signage is posted on all levels to direct students, faculty and staff. The second floor of Norton may be accessed from Capen and O’Brian halls.

The flooding prompted UBIT to switch some services to backup servers on Monday, and some UBIT services may be slow. To read more about the UBIT services impacted, visit the UBIT Alerts webpage.

Updates will be provided at UB’s emergency website as information is made available.
