The UB Child Care Center (UBCCC) will hold its fifth annual Friends & Family 5K Fun Walk on May 13 on the North Campus.
The walk raises money for and awareness of UBCCC, which offers full-time and part-time child care for the children of UB faculty, staff and students, as well as other state employees and families from the community. A private, non-profit organization, UBCCC has sites on St. Rita’s Lane on the North Campus and in Butler Annex A on Main Street on the South Campus.
Proceeds from the fun walk will go toward upgrading music and movement areas in the classrooms.
The walk will begin at 10 a.m. at the entrance to the bike path on St. Rita’s Lane. After the walk, participants can enjoy live music, a basket raffle, magic show, face-painting, tie-dye and balloon animals at a party, which will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Alumni C parking lot at Baird Point. Food and refreshments will be provided.
Those who wish to participate must hand in or mail in a registration form and pay their registration fee at either of the UBCCC sites. Registration on the day of the walk will take place from 9:15-10 a.m. outside the North Campus site.
Registration fees are $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under. The fee for a family of four is $45, plus $5 for each additional child.
