Ellie Fogarty, vice president at the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, will be the keynote speaker at “Assessment 5.0: Continuous Improvement,” UB’s annual Assessment Day symposium being held Sept. 29 in 145 Student Union, North Campus.
Assessment Day is designed to help faculty, staff and administrators develop assessment strategies. This year’s theme focuses on creating coherent learning outcomes at various levels and using assessment for continuous improvement.
The event is free for UB faculty, staff and administrators. Register online by Sept. 15.
As a vice president at Middle States, Fogarty serves as a liaison for accreditation services to more than 80 colleges and universities in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. She presents workshops on issues related to higher education accreditation, including assessment, institutional effectiveness and compliance.
Her keynote speech is titled “Using Assessment Results to Propel Continuous Improvement in Student Success: Meeting the Expectations of the New MSCHE Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation.”
In addition, Fogarty will lead an afternoon workshop on “Aligning Learning Goals across Campus: Understanding Your Role and Responsibility for Defining and Measuring Learning Outcomes.”
