UB officials announced today they are extending 24-hour shuttle service to Fridays and Saturdays between South Campus and the Silverman Library on the North Campus.
The service now will run every 30 minutes, seven days a week, beginning Sept. 29, and will be used to transport students who need to travel between campuses for work and study.
This change, based on student feedback, will maintain transportation for students who need to use library services, connect with study groups or work during the hours of 2-7 a.m., according to Chris Austin, director of parking and transportation services.
The shuttle that will be used for the route holds 25 passengers — half the capacity of Stampede buses. There is no option for standing. The university will monitor the shuttle to ensure it is used for its intended purpose.
“We’ll continue to listen to students, faculty, staff and members of the community, and make adjustments where necessary to ensure we’re addressing their needs and concerns,” Austin said.
All bus schedules are posted on Parking and Transportation Services’ website.
