E-MEX Ensemble will perform April 4 at the Black Box Theatre at UB's Center for the Arts.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. Billed as a concert for "ensemble and interactive computer music systems," the performance is presented by the UB Department of Music and Lejaren Hiller Computer Music Studios.
E-MEX was founded in 1999 by six musicians in western Germany with the idea to work closely with composers in direct personal exchange, according to the group's website. Its repertoire has grown to include hundreds of pieces, many of which are compositions from some of new music's most well-known composers.
At the UB concert, E-MEX will perform music by Carter Williams, Hans Tutschku, Hilda Paredes, Christoph Maria Wagner and Cort Lippe, UB associate professor of composition and director of the Hiller Computer Music Studios.
