Members of the UB community can join the UB LGBTQ Faculty and Staff Association for the 26th Annual AIDS Walk Buffalo on May 5 near Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park.
The 5K walk heightens awareness of the impact HIV/AIDS continues to have on our community by honoring those living with the disease and memorializing those who have passed on. The funds raised through the walk will benefit Evergreen Health Services, formerly AIDS Community Services of WNY Inc.
Anyone interested in joining the UB LGBTQ FSA team can register online using the password “ublgbtqfsa18.” Although the team has already met its fundraising goal of $500, it is still accepting donations. Faculty and staff can still join the team; a monetary donation is not required to participate in the walk.
The team will send out details regarding a “meet up” spot to participants about a week before the event.
Questions can be directed to team captain Charlie Baxter.
Visit the AIDS Walk Buffalo website for more information about the walk.
