More than 30,000 UB students, faculty and staff are already using UBbox’s free, secure and unlimited cloud storage to back up their files. Now, Box Drive is making it easier to store and access your files, and new secure folders and accounts are available for faculty and staff working with sensitive data.

Access your UBbox files right from your desktop with Box Drive. Box Drives turns your UBbox account into a removable drive on your computer. Any collaboration or edits made on your desktop are automatically uploaded to UBbox, and you can right click any file and hit “Copy Link” to generate a shareable link instantly.

Box Drive is available now for Windows and Mac. If you’re already using Box Sync, be sure to uninstall it to allow Box Drive to work properly.

For UB faculty and staff members working with sensitive data — such as Category I data like social security and passport numbers, or HIPAA-protected private health information — UBbox now has an approved process for storing this data. Those who are interested can learn more here, then contact their IT support staff or submit a request through the UBIT Help Center to get started.

If you haven’t joined the thousands of people taking advantage of UBbox, log into yours at ubbox.buffalo.edu, where you can also find videos and step-by-step guides on setting up UBbox, sharing and collaborating on files and more.

If you’d like to share how you’re using UBbox, email ubit-communication@buffalo.edu — your stories will allow other students or faculty to enjoy the same features and experience.
