Town hall sessions have been scheduled for the North and South campuses for UB’s new “Shop Blue” eProcurement system that aims to greatly reduce both the procurement process and improve delivery time.
The sessions will be held from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Oct. 2 in 403 Hayes Hall, South Campus, and from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Oct. 3 in 107 Capen Hall, North Campus.
Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP in advance.
A town hall session was held on the Downtown Campus in August.
Participants at the town halls will learn about the transition from the current eReq system to Shop Blue and see a brief demonstration of the new system.
A question-and-answer session will follow.
Shop Blue can be used by anyone with a valid UB appointment who needs to make a purchase for work — from requisitioners who make large purchases of furniture or lab equipment to employees who need to buy ink cartridges for their department printers.
“It’s a more modern shopping experience for the user,” says Michael Maute, process improvement director for business services, who is leading the initiative with Linda Deni, director of procurement operations. Maute described Shop Blue as “an Amazon-like” purchasing experience.
