UB faculty, staff and students can show their support for healthy, seasonal eating by taking part in the “New York Campus Crunch” on Oct. 24.
The event, sponsored by Campus Dining & Shops with support from Health Promotion, will be held in the lobby of the Student Union, North Campus.
At noon, participants will bite into apples — en masse — to affirm their commitment to food that is healthy for people and the planet.
Campus Dining & Shops will supply local Empire apples to the first 300 attendees. Participants also can bring their own apples.
Apples are a healthy and seasonal food that grow abundantly in New York State; in fact, New York is the second-largest apple-producing state in the U.S., averaging nearly 30 million bushels annually.
