UB departments that would like to take part in the university’s annual Adopt a Family initiative should sign up by Nov. 12.

Each holiday season, the Office of Community Relations partners with several neighborhood community centers and organizations to identify local families in need. Participating departments are matched with a family and will be provided with a wish list to help the family in celebrating the holiday season.

Departments interested in taking part should contact Dylan Steed at 716-829-6147 or dtsteed@buffalo.edu and provide the number of individuals in the department taking part and a department contact person.

Department contacts will receive information on their families on Nov. 19; gifts are due by Dec. 17. The holiday reception with the participating organizations and families will be held on Dec. 19.

This year, Adopt a Family is also accepting gift cards from individuals who wish to participate in this program but are not in a department that is sponsoring a family. Gift cards can be sent to Steed in Community Relations at 116 Parker Hall, South Campus.
