For the past five years, UB and local partners have convened clinicians, resettlement representatives, community health workers, researchers, students, municipal leaders and refugees from Western New York for an annual refugee health summit.
The event highlights the innovative university-community partnerships that have resulted in research, programming and solutions to improve health and well-being for refugees.
As it plans for the 2019 event, UB’s Community of Excellence in Global Health Equity is seeking input from the campus community through two upcoming planning meetings.
Sessions are scheduled for 4 p.m. Dec. 11 and noon Dec. 14. Both meetings will be held in GHE’s office in 220 Hayes Hall, South Campus.
Anyone interested in attending either session is asked to RSVP by contacting GHE Administrative Coordinator Jessica Scates at jmscates@buffalo.edu.
More information on the 2019 WNY Refugee Health Summit will be released closer to the event. A summary of last year’s summit is available on the Global Health Equity website.
