Plots are available in the UB Campus Garden for the upcoming growing season.
Students, faculty and staff in departments, offices or clubs who will be on campus for the growing season are invited to attend an interest meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 27 in the UB Sustainability office, 101 Statler Commissary near Crofts Hall and Beane Service Center on the North Campus.
The students who are managing the garden project will go over rules and expectations on garden maintenance and the commitments that are required.
Those who are interested but can’t make the meeting should fill out the RSVP form, and a team member will be in touch with updates.
Space is very limited for this upcoming growing season, says Derek Nichols, sustainability engagement coordinator for UB Sustainability. “This is our first year piloting this type of plot-based model, and there is not a guarantee that every group interested will have their own growing space,” Nichols says. “If there is enough interest and we have a successful growing season, we plan on expanding in the future.”
