The finalists in the search for a new dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences have been identified and they will be visiting UB March 2, 3, 4, 6 and 11.
The five candidates will meet with faculty, senior academic and administrative leadership, staff, students, alumni and invited community partners.
Public forums with the finalists will be scheduled from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on each of the visit dates in the Buffalo Room, 10 Capen Hall, North Campus. At these forums, the candidates will provide introductory remarks and talk with those attending the meeting.
The names and CVs of the finalists will be available at 9 a.m. Feb. 28 on the search website. Faculty, staff and students will need to log in with their UBIT name and password to gain access to the names and CVs of the candidates.
For those who cannot attend the public forum in person and are interested in hearing from the candidates, a live stream is available on the search website at the time of the open forum; an archive capture of each session will remain available online until 5 p.m. March 13.
Confidential surveys to gather feedback on each candidate will be available on the search website beginning the first day of campus visits. All feedback should be submitted by 5 p.m. March 13.
The search is seeking a successor to Liesl Folks, who left UB last summer to become senior vice president for academic affairs and provost at the University of Arizona.
Rajan Batta, SUNY Distinguished Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and associate dean for faculty affairs, human resources and diversity in the engineering school, has been serving as interim dean.
