The Imagine LaSalle park redesign project will hold a community meeting March 10 to reveal an updated design for Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park that reflects changes made based on technical studies and analysis completed throughout 2019.
The meeting will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. in Waterfront Elementary BPS #95, 95 Fourth St., Buffalo.
The School of Architecture and Planning and the UB Regional Institute are leading the public engagement part of the project.
Attendees at the meeting can explore the updated design for the park through a revised large-scale model, and communicate feedback to the design team.
Architecture and engineering firm Schlaich Bergermann Partner (sbp) will also present a preliminary design for a new pedestrian crossing spanning I-190 that will connect Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park with surrounding neighborhoods.
Representatives from Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates (MVVA), the firm leading the schematic design of Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park, will recap the work completed throughout 2019, including technical studies and analysis, and explain how this work is reflected in the revised design for the park. MVVA will also outline the work that lies ahead in the coming months and years.
Schlaich Bergermann Partner will then present its initial design for the new pedestrian bridge.
After these presentations, the community is encouraged to examine the new model and bridge renderings up close and provide comments to MVVA and sbp.
