Campus visits set for VP/dean finalists

Five finalists for UB's leadership role as vice president for health sciences and dean of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences will conduct campus visits over the next few weeks, the search committee has announced.

During their visits, finalists will meet with senior academic and administrative leadership, staff, faculty, students, alumni and invited hospital and community partners.

The names and CVs of the finalists will be available on the search website 48 hours prior to each candidate’s visit. Members of the UB community will need to log in with their UBIT name and password to gain access to finalists’ names and CVs.

Open sessions with finalists are scheduled on the dates below from 1-1:50 p.m., unless specified below, in the Ronald I. Dozoretz, MD '62 Auditorium on the second floor of the Jacobs School building (room 2220B). Some of the sessions have been rescheduled from previously announced dates:

  • Aug. 31, Candidate 1.
  • Sept. 10, Candidate 3.
  • Sept. 14, Candidate 4.
  • Sept. 15, 3-3:50 p.m., Candidate 5. This session was rescheduled from Sept. 16.
  • Sept. 21, Candidate 2. This session was rescheduled from Sept. 8.

A live stream will be available on the search website at the time of each open session. Additionally, a recording of each session will be available on the search website until 5 p.m. Sept. 17. Those who can't attend a session in person may submit questions in advance.

Feedback surveys for each finalist will be available on the search website beginning the first day of their campus visits. Feedback is due by 5 p.m. Sept. 17.

The search committee is co-chaired by Timothy Murphy, SUNY Distinguished Professor and senior associate dean for clinical and translational research, and Nancy Nielsen, senior associate dean for health policy.
