Feedback sought on new learning management system

SUNY’s contract with the Blackboard (UB Learns) learning management system expires in December 2022, and members of the UB community are invited to weigh in on possible replacement systems.

A review committee comprised of UB faculty, staff and students is evaluating three learning management systems for recommendation as possible replacement systems: Blackboard Ultra, Brightspace D2L and Canvas.  

Each of these vendors is providing a demonstration of their platforms this week, and faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in the virtual demos and provide feedback to the review committee.

The schedule for demonstrations:

Brightspace D2L: 9-11 a.m., Nov. 10

Blackboard Ultra: 9-11 a.m., Nov. 11

Join Blackboard Ultra presentation. (Most compatible with Chrome browser.) 

Provide feedback on Blackboard Ultra.

Canvas: 1-3 p.m., Nov. 11

Join Canvas presentation.

Provide feedback on Canvas.

Recordings will be available on the Learning Management System (LMS) Review page (UBIT name and password required) for those unable to attend the live sessions. The review committee will accept feedback on the systems through Nov. 30, and will communicate additional opportunities for the campus community to participate in this review process in the coming months.
