Submissions are due Feb. 27 for a new student film festival at UB focused on issues of social justice.
Sponsored by Student Engagement, the Baird Point Film Festival offers students a platform to submit an original short film that reflects on how a social justice issue or community engagement experience has either impacted them or the UB community, says Rachel DiDomizio, assistant director for community and civic engagement.
Submissions, which opened Jan. 31, must be two to 15 minutes in duration, include closed captioning and be submitted as an mp4. At least one person on each film crew must be currently enrolled as a UB student.
Screening will be at 7 p.m. March 30 in 330 Student Union. Recognition will be given for Best Film, Best Directing and Most Impactful, along with other various awards in different film categories.
Those interested in attending the event should RSVP.
