Shannon N. Zenk, director of the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), will give the School of Nursing’s 25th Annual Bonnie Bullough Lecture on April 22.
Zenk, the keynote speaker for the school’s ninth annual Research Day, will address this year’s theme: improving health and eliminating health inequities through nursing science. She will also discuss the new NINR strategic plan.
Zenk’s keynote address — “The Future of Nursing Research: Innovation, Collaboration, and Impact” — begins at 9 a.m., following opening remarks at 8:45 a.m.
The annual Research Day brings together nursing scholars across Western New York to discuss and share advancements in the study of pressing health care issues. Students and faculty present their research across a wide range of health care topics during a poster session following the lecture. The poster session will run from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., followed by awards and closing remarks.
Both the keynote address and poster session will be delivered via Zoom.
The Bullough Lecture was established in 1997 by Vern Bullough to honor the memory of his wife and colleague, Bonnie Bullough, dean of the School of Nursing from 1980-91, by bringing prominent leaders in the field to speak to the School of Nursing community.
