UB faculty, staff and students are encouraged to use an alternative method of transportation to get to campus on Green Your Commute and Bike to Work Day May 18 on the Downtown Campus and May 19 on the North and South campuses.
The options range from walking, biking, taking public transit, carpooling, driving a zero-emission vehicle, or any mode of transportation that does not involve driving alone in a gas-powered vehicle.
Those who are working remotely can keep with the spirit of this annual event by greening their workday from wherever they are logging in — bike or walk to lunch, the gym or the coffee shop.
Green your Commute Day is sponsored by Parking and Transportation Services and UB Sustainability.
UB green commuters on May 19 can refresh at energizer stations at the Main Circle on the South Campus and Founders Plaza on the North Campus. Those who check in from 7:30-9:30 a.m. will find free snacks and other giveaways.
UB community members who bike to work on the Downtown Campus on May 18 can join the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus celebration in the Pocket Park. Arrive on a bike and enjoy a protein shake and yoga class from 7:30-10:30 a.m.; bike to GoBike at noon and grab a free lunch; and wrap up the day with music and snacks from 4:40-6:30 p.m.
Register for the event online.
