The School of Management has named Dorothy Siaw-Asamoah director of its Center for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness.
A clinical associate professor of organization and human resources, and director of the school’s global programs, Siaw-Asamoah will retain her current academic roles as she assumes strategic oversight of CLOE and leverages her skills and knowledge to globalize the center’s offerings and expand its reach and research.
Among her many qualifications, she holds a PhD in communication, an MBA and a BS in business administration from UB; she is also a certified leadership coach.
Siaw-Asamoah’s appointment follows the departure of Molly (Anderson) Oliver, who is stepping down after nearly seven years to accept an executive position at an area nonprofit.
“While we are sorry to see Molly go, we are truly grateful for her work in making CLOE into the success it is today,” says Dean Ananth Iyer. “And with Dorothy’s global perspective and faculty experience in organizations and human resources, she is the ideal candidate to continue our commitment to the center’s mission and lead it into a new era.
The school will also be expanding the role of Courtney J. Walsh, assistant dean for executive and professional development. With more than 20 years’ experience in executive education, Walsh will now lead business development of credit and non-credit programs as well as tailored learning experiences. As part of her new responsibilities, Walsh will help CLOE develop organizational partnerships and expand its programmatic offerings.
Walsh earned an MBA from UB and a BS from Ithaca College, with dual majors in management and marketing. She also holds certifications in leadership and emotional intelligence.
Since 2013, CLOE has created more effective leaders and organizations by advancing research, education and outreach in leadership and organizational development.
